NFL Supercoach expert Eden Richards gives his trade plans, captains, and PODs ahead of NFL Supercoach Week 8
NFLIt’s not often you score 398 and go up in rank.
That was the story for me last week, in what was a truly weird week of Supercoach.
Tony Pollard top-scored, the Bucs defence scored 62 points, and the Miami Dolphins even won a game.
I think I speak for all coaches when I say, let’s hope normal service resumes this week!
Now let’s get into my trades ahead of Week 8…

Omar Cooper Jr. is the most traded in player this week, and I’d highly recommend getting him in if you don’t already own him.
I was lucky enough to bring him in last week, but it’s not too late to get him in if you missed out on his 40 in Week 7.
He still has a BE of -39, and he’s projected to go up another $3.3 million this week. This is probably your last chance to make the trade, so make sure you do it before he becomes too expensive.
He’s getting WR1 numbers in New York, and his production is actually good enough to start him – that’s how good he’s going.

You need to own McBride and Brock Bowers for the run home, and this looks like the week to get McBride before he inevitably goes up in price again.
He’s just a target machine, averaging just over 11 per game. He’s turned that into 8.4 catches per game, and this sort of production is unmatched in the TE position.
I’ll be trading Tyler Warren for him. Warren has done nothing wrong, but he keeps missing weeks with injury, and I’m getting sick of it.
Every week he seems to be questionable and then ruled out, and it’s costing me big time. Even this week he’s been limited at training… I’ve had enough.
If you want to hold Warren, you can, but I don’t have a good TE on my bench, and I need the points McBride guarantees.

I actually can’t believe I brought him in and then Josh Jacobs returned the week after. Just horrible timing.
With Jacobs’ return, Lloyd’s production has gone down the toilet, and he’s going to start losing money.
Fortunately, we have a perfect replacement in Coleman.
Coleman returned from injury last week, and he hit the ground running, rushing for 54 yards on nine carries and adding 15 yards through the air.
It was a great return, and his workload is only going to increase, with coach Sean Payton telling the press that he needs to “get him more touches, definitely”.
That’s music to my ears. Payton absolutely loves Coleman, and I think coaches will too. He’s bottom dollar, has a BE of -20, and has massive upside. If you have an underwhelming RB rotting on your bench, it’s time to trade down to Coleman.
Embed from Getty ImagesI’m going a bit rogue with my VC this week and putting it on Christian Watson in the first game of the round.
Matthew Golden is banged up and in doubt, and even if he does play, I’m not expecting the same explosive Golden we’ve seen throughout the first seven weeks of the season.
This is good news for Watson owners, with the star receiver next in line for Golden’s 25.5% target share.
Speaking of target share, despite a couple of underwhelming weeks, there’s still been plenty of targets for Watson; he just hasn’t been able to turn these into big plays.
He’s had eight targets in each of his last three games, and I’m hoping this number grows this week with Golden either playing injured or missing the game completely.
I admit Watson is a speculative VC option, but there’s a genuine chance he goes big, and I want to have the option to loop him if he does.

Drake Maye is averaging 60 over the past three weeks, and this weekend he comes up against a horrible Dolphins side.
The Dolphins are allowing 26.2 points per game, and I expect the Patriots to eclipse that mark on Sunday.
Last time Maye and the Patriots made the trip to Miami, they put up 33 points, and Maye put on a clinic.
He threw for two touchdowns, rushed for one, and only had four incompletions. Yes, he’s a boring and safe option to captain this week, but he could go very, very big.

If you can’t afford the likes of Drake Maye and Joe Burrow as your second QB, then you could do worse than Trevor Lawrence.
He’s underpriced and has an incredible run coming up… He plays the Titans twice, Colts and Giants over the next five weeks, with his only real test against the Ravens.
It’s all set up for him to go on a bit of a run, and he could easily go up $5-$6 million in this period. They’ve played their London games, have freshened up thanks to the bye, and now the Jags are going to cook. Get Lawrence in your flex.
Embed from Getty ImagesTre Tucker (WR) – $13,600,000 – 2% owned
I’m absolutely loving what I’ve seen from Tre Tucker over the last couple of weeks.
He’s had 19 targets, 10 receptions, 200 yards, and three touchdowns. He’s the first Raider to have 200+ receiving yards and three touchdowns in a two-game span since Davante Adams.
He’s on a heater, and he’s quickly become a favourite option for Kirk Cousins.
Cousins is the key; if he keeps starting in Vegas, then Tucker is a great POD, but if Fernando Mendoza gets the starting spot, I’d be less keen…
It does look like Cousins is keeping the starting role for now, and this means Tucker is going to keep scoring well and keep making money.
He’s the seventh-best WR over the past three weeks, and you’re only paying $13.6 million for him. That is a bargain.
With a BE of -19, he should go up another $2 million this week, so if you want a WR that’s flying under the radar, he is your man.
